Welcome Bennett Michael!

I know it's been a month since Bennett arrived, but as you can imagine, life has been a bit crazy around the Jarnigan house (It's only taken me two days to do this post). Therefore, I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably not going to be sending out birth announcements. I didn't do it for Ed either, so I don't feel so bad. :-) I wanted to post some pictures of Bennett from the hospital and then a short little video I took of him the other day. When he was born, he was 7lbs. 13oz and 19.75 inches long.

Ed and I took Ben to the doctor yesterday and he has grown so much in the past month! He is now 10lbs. 7oz. and 22.75 inches long. He is such a big eater, so I'm not surprised at all that he has grown so much.

Some may be wondering how Ed is doing with it all. He loves his little brother and is so proud to be a big brother. We haven't changed much about our routine, so that helps. Ben just comes along wherever we go. He lives in the carrier and loves every second of it. He's my snuggle bug.

In the pictures, you can see where he has spots on his face. The cord was wrapped around his neck when he was born and they had to vaccum him part of the way (only about 5 sec) because his heartbeat was quickly going down. A bit scary for a second, but he was fine. It was an easy labor otherwise- only 8 hrs!

right after he was born- probably one of the best moments in the world for a mother

I took this pic a couple days later at home

Here are some more recent pics.

Here is a short video of Bennett. We were at Pump it Up for a bday party.

Just some recent pics of us outside enjoying the nice weather. We also got a new camera, so I'm trying that out. Ed threw our other one down the stairs and broke it (sad times). Therefore, we splurged and got a much nicer camera that we have been wanting for a while now. Thanks, Ed! There is also a short video of Ed "wacking the ball" as Pawpaw says it, and now Ed calls it that as well.

Playing in the sandbox

Lefty??

Look at that form! Eye on the ball and everything! I think he's an natural. Wonder where he gets it? :-)

FAO Schwarz

Being that we don't have much more time as a family of 3, we are trying to make the most of our days with just Ed. We took a trip into the city yesterday and went to FAO Schwarz. Ed's mind was about to explode from all the stimulation. Here are a few pics and one video.

Updates

Just realizing today how long it has been since we posted something on our blog! Wow. Well, lots has happened since we last posted.

* Ed is potty trained (Yippiee!),
*has learned to pedal his trike (and mommy has to chase him all over the neighborhood- which is not easy when you are 8 months preggo),
*is now wearing 3T clothes (any parent can relate to this milestone or any change in sizes of clothes),
*and little brother is a month away from making his debut (if not sooner!).

Our little boy is getting so big and just in time to be a big brother!

36 weeks and counting!

Cumberland Mountain 2011

I always have such a hard time explaining to people what we do at "Cumberland Mountain" and why it is so special to our family. Five families have been going for 28 years and we are now on the 3rd generation. We are up 43 people! Next year it will be 46 with the addition of 3 more babies! This group is so special to us and are all like family. Here is a group photo and a short video put together by our friend Brandon Gnetz that really paints a good picture of some of what we do there (eat and play). Make sure you have the sound on because the music is great with the video as well.

Baby Jarnigan #2

The baby wasn't cooperating in our first anatomy scan and the tech couldn't get some pictures of the heart he needed. So, I went back today. Everything looks perfect and we got some great pics.

Halloween!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We have never really gotten excited about Halloween in our house.  Ed wasn't so sure about this whole "dress-up" thing (and I can't blame him), and I actually had to bribe him with candy to put on his costume. Once he figured out this whole "trick or treat" song and dance, he really loved it. Ed also loved handing out candy to the trick or treaters. He would stand at the window waiting on them. We actually had a great Halloween. I'm actually looking forward to next year!
The cutest lion ever...he's not really sure what to think about all this.

Okay, now we're having some fun with Aidan, the construction worker, and Nora, the pretty princess.

Trunk or Treating! They were holding hands, but I was too slow with the camera.

On our way out in our neighborhood to do some trick or treating!

With his buddies

This is so much fun!

So, I chopped off all of Ed's curls last night. :-( His hair was out of control so he desperately needed a cut. I have to admit, I did almost cry about it. Anyway, here is a precious picture of our little guy. He looks like such a big boy now! :-( On a side note: I think I did a pretty good job considering that he wouldn't sit still and cried the whole time while trying to hold on to his hair (yes, it wasn't a pretty sight). And, we will let the curls grow back- they are just too adorable. We just couldn't take the crazy hair anymore.

First Day of School!

Ed started his Toddler Town program today and had a great first day!
Take one....

Take two....

Okay, now we're getting somewhere! What a cutie!

Ed looks very grumpy here sitting with his friends. That about describes how our morning went before school. He had a great time once he got there though. For some reason this picture just makes me laugh.

Here's a better one of the happy campers.

Fall Fun

Pictures from our fall festivities yesterday! We went down to Princeton, NJ with our friends where we went to two different farms. Lots of fun was had by all!

Ed and Nora looking at the goats.

Ed calling the goats over to see them

chickens!

Ed was a little scared of this one. It was big and made a funny noise when you pet it's nose.

Family pic.

Best friends- holding hands, walking through the apple orchard- just precious

"dewishious" apple! (as Ed says)

Ed, Nora, and Aidan just hanging out eating their apples.

Watching the tractor in the distance

Looking at the pig

Just touched the pigs nose! so silly

AND then he found the trucks....

Our friends' family owns a farm, so after that we left and went to have some more fun there.

Petting the bunnies- and of course they did some chasing, too.

Picking out their pumpkins to paint- Of course, Ed thought it would be fun to throw a few as well.

Ed did a marvelous job. :-) And then he spotted the trucks...He immediately threw the paint brush down and ran over. This is about as far as he got on the pumpkin. You can see how much he cares for art.

Going for a tractor ride! Naturally, Ed refused to sit with us. He had to crowd in with Nora's family. He did turn around every now and then and grin at us real quick.

Then, he got to sit on the tractor and didn't crack a smile. Serious business.

He loved riding the 4 wheel bikes. He was actually really good at steering them, probably from practice on his tricycle. We just had to supply the power. Don't let this picture fool you, preggo Mommy did lots of pushing as well!

Okay, I put this picture on here because I know exactly where he gets this look from. I think my family calls this look the "harry eyeball." Funny stuff.
