1st Birthday

Ed had a fabulous 1st birthday! He got lots of cool presents, but the stars of the show were the wrapping paper and boxes. :-) He also got to eat a big cupcake and made a huge mess of it. But what else is a kid to do with icing and cake! He LOVED the cupcake and couldn't get enough of it. Cici and Granddaddy got to come up for his big day since they were staying with him for a week while Mommy and Daddy went on vacation.

We also had his one year checkup today. He is 29.75 inches long and weighs 21.6 lbs. He has slowed down on his growing, but we feel like he looks so much more like a little boy than a baby now. I guess it's due to the fact that he is losing more of his baby fat and also walking. He pretty much walks everywhere now and is so happy doing it. It's amazing how good he's gotten at it in just a week. Oh, and no more formula...on to real milk for this big boy. :-) Now, if we could only get him out of diapers....

Here are some pictures from his b-day!
*note- Please pay no attention to the date on the pictures (Cici/Granddaddy- turn that off). :-)

First Steps!

So, for an early birthday present, Ed decided to take his first steps! Yay! He has been holding our hand and walking for he past couple of weeks but just now had the confidence to let go. He still prefers to crawl, as that is much quicker, but it won't take him long to get the hang of walking. He's so proud of himself!

Now, I know what you really want to see is him in action....

Memorial Day Weekend!

We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend. Ed went swimming for the first time and LOVED it and then we had a bbq in the park with friends.

Picnic in the Park!

One of Ed's favorite things to do: Look at the boats, helicopters, ducks, dogs, and planes at the park.

These next two pictures basically speak for themselves! Of course, I did get the camera before I made him quit. While I was rolling the toilet paper back up, he used that time to figure out how to open the toilet lid (and then play in the toilet) and dump out the trash can while pushing it around the bathroom. I was not happy about cleaning it up, but it did make me laugh. I know this is just the beginning of many messes to come.

Here is sweetness at its finest. All that hard work makes for a tired boy!
